Mr. Athanasiadis, are you only the owner of the page or also a pilot, taking part to the photo shootings?
I am a mathematician and I love flights and photography! With a very good friend of mine, Mr. Mademlis we fly and take photos from the area of Macedonia! I am the owner of the pages «Η Ελλάδα από ψηλά» (Greece from high above) https://www.facebook.com/Greecefromhighabove and www.airphotos.gr.
In your page we can see many photos all over Greece. Are you a big team or this is your work after many years taking photos?
At the beginning, I was taking photos only from the city of Serres (North Greece) but after some advice of other pilots I started cooperating with them and uploading pictures all over Greece. At this moment we are 116 pilots working for this page!
What was your motivation to create this page? Was it just because you love photography or because you wanted to show to all the people how beautiful Greece is?
I wanted to show to Greek people and people from other countries a nice sight of our country through amateur air photos. Photography is my hobby the last 35 years. I like playing with the camera and taking unique pictures. The beauty of taking photos is that each one of them can tell us a unique story! Furthermore, it is really nice to share your work with other people, to give them the pleasure to see their country from above and read their comments!
Greece faces economical problems. Do you think that people from other countries have lost their interest to visit Greece?
Foreigh people have always been interested in visiting Greece! It is a country rich of beauty, tradition and culture.
Do you have any favorite place in Greece?
The lake of Kerkini is a place I really love. It is the paradise of birds and the landscape changes while the season changes. Anyway, it is always amazing and I love taking photos of the lake.

Can you describe Greece in a few words?
I will use some words of Odysseus Elytis. If you break Greece into pieces you will have an olive, a ship and a vineyard. So, with these things you can recreate it!
